Are Door Hinges Really So Important?

Hey there! 👋

Last time I emailed you, I mentioned that James and I watched a special session with Dean Graziosi.

I hope you don’t mind hearing about it again, as I’ll probably be sharing more insights in the weeks to come. 💡

One of his sayings that really stuck with me was, "Subtle shifts are like small hinges that swing a big door." 🚪

Interesting thought, right?

One subtle shift I’m trying right now is changing the format of our newsletters this year.

Have you noticed the difference? 👀

I’m moving away from the typical "here’s our sale or update" format that I used to follow.

Instead, I want to share stories and inspirational thoughts.

Stories that are practical and down-to-earth.

Stories you’ll enjoy reading. 😊

Stories that make you think, "Hmm, how can I apply that lesson to my life?" 💭

What about you?

Is there a subtle shift you need to make in your life over the course of 2025?

Maybe something small that you don't think will make a big difference?

Next time you open a door, stop and look at the hinges it swings on. 🚪

They’re small compared to the door itself, but without them, opening the door would be nearly impossible!

Can you imagine how long it would take to open and close doors without hinges?

It would be a massive change in our lives!

So, try that small shift and see if it makes a difference over time. ⏳

Maybe it’s something simple, like setting a timer for your child’s piano practice time and offering genuine praise at the end. ⏰

Or taking 5 minutes a day for your child to watch one of our calming videos to help them regulate their emotions.

If you have a small shift you’re trying, I’d love to hear about it! 💬

I’d also LOVE to hear what you think of our new email format!

Please take a few seconds and take our poll below to let us know! ⏳

Joyfully,

Angela Joy (Lady Joy)

Joyfulnotes Piano for Beginners

My name is Angela Joy Duncan but I'm also known as "Lady Joy" to kids around the world! My goal is to help Christian parents by teaching their kids about God through music using a colour-coded piano program comprised of books I've written and courses I've created. While I love for any kids ages 4-10 to use my program, I especially tailor it to young children, those with special learning challenges (such as neurodivergent students) and missionary kids!

Hi friend, I wanted to pop in with a quick and exciting update—my Level 2A Book is now available on our website! You can check it out here. I’m so excited to share this next step in the program with you! Last week’s Author Event at Living Waters Christian Bookstore was a wonderful success! One of my favorite moments was getting to meet some of you in person—families who are already using the books and maybe even the course, too. It’s always a joy to put a face to a name and hear how your...

Hey friend, I know…it’s been a while. 🫣 At the start of the year, I had big dreams, exciting plans, and a head full of creative ideas. And then…well, life happened. 🤷♀️ Sometimes my imagination moves faster than the rest of me can keep up! It’s kind of like piling your plate with way more food than you can actually eat—you know, “eyes bigger than your stomach” style. 😋 For me, it’s ideas that are bigger than the time, energy, and health I actually have. So I had to pause and make some tough...

Last Saturday, James and I spent over three hours participating in a "2025 New Year Strategy Session" with Dean Graziosi. It was probably the most worthwhile three hours we’ve invested so far this year. We walked away with so many valuable insights and challenging ideas to ponder for both life and business. One idea that really stood out to us was the importance of community. 💬 It made me think about something I tried when I launched this course last March. Back then, I attempted to build a...
